About Me

Little Acorn Learning was born out my lifelong love for children and my desire to protect their inherent right to experience childhood as many of us remember it to be. For over 25 years, I have applied my love of nature-based learning and mindful caregiving drawing from my experience as a mother, as owner and teacher of my own home-based Waldorf inspired school and as my role as Kindergarten Teacher at Housatonic Valley Waldorf School in Connecticut.

Based on seasonal themes and festivals, Little Acorn Learning inspires a love of nature and the home arts while supporting the caregiver’s soul. I help parents, teachers, and caregivers find true meaning in their very important work with children. Little Acorn Learning offers homeschooling curriculum, online courses, nature study lessons, Waldorf playthings, wooden toys and natural art supplies for the classroom and home educator.

In my spare time, I enjoy backyard gardening, beekeeping, chicken and rabbit raising, maple syrup making, cooking, crochet and spending time outdoors with my children, pets and loved ones.

I have been a writer all of my life and had poetry published at a very young age. More recently my work has been published in various sources such as Relevant Times Magazine, Primal Parenting Magazine, Rhythm of the Home Online Magazine, the Simple Kids Website and others. I have also spoken on The Waldorf Connection Radio Show and continue to pursue my love of talking and writing about natural parenting and nature-based learning.

I look forward to celebrating the seasons with you and the children in your care!
